An assortment of issues facing our country

Dear Barack Obama

I would first like to congratulate you on achieving the Presidency of the United States. I agree with many of your policies and ideas, and am proud for a leader like you to have arisen in such a detrimental time in our country. I understand there are many issues you must be attending too, four years is a short time compared with your potential accomplishments. I am hoping to address a few issues with you in hopes that more attention gets paid to them.

Amberlynn Writes to the President

Dear Mr. President,

My letter is about gay rights, abortion, and gas prices with lots of ideas with them. I’m from Sarasota Florida at Booker High school and I would really appreciate if you would take the time to read about what I have to say.

My first issue is gay rights. Gay marriage should be legal because people say it’s not what the person looks like it’s what inside of them and I for one really like that saying. Love is love doesn’t matter if you’re the same sex. And if someone comes out and tells people their gay they should not be discriminated against and people say that its not right because its not in the bible well if we listened to everything that came out of the bible do you think that in this day in age people would be killing people, selling drugs. Yeah I don’t think so.

Daidone’s Opinion

Dear Mr. President,

I would like you to read this letter with an open heart. You see I have this problem, while growing up I realized my sister was homosexual. I don’t have a problem with it at all, but it seems other people do. They say that the bible says, “If you are gay you will go to hell.” But God says, “He will love us no matter what happens.” So there’s something wrong with this picture.

Shelley Telling It How it Is

Dear President Barack Obama,

I want to talk to you about rights. Why should a woman lose the right to her own body? Why should a person be unable to marry the one they love? Why should kids fall behind just because they stress easily? Of course, they shouldn’t. You of all people should be the example of tolerance and equality.

Sara’s Letter to The President

Dear President  Barack Obama,

I write to you from a high school classroom in Sarasota, FL. I know I may not be the most educated or government savvy person you’ll hear from, but I feel that my opinions and views on the country are just as important as the next persons’. I want to begin by informing you of how overjoyed I am that you were elected into the white house as our forty-fourth president. I feel that you’re not only competent and capable of taking on our country’s biggest issues, but I wholeheartedly trust you to listen to everyone’s opinions and what matters to them. So I have taken it upon myself to write to you about the things that matter most to me. I would like to tell you about my views on gay rights, abortion and ways we can help protect our environment.
